Julie’s most recent book Olive Odyssey has been shortlisted for a BC Book Prize. The Hubert Evans Non-fiction prize is awarded to the BC author of the best original work of literary non-fiction.
The other four finalists are Northern Dancer: The Legendary Horse That Inspired a Nation by Kevin Chong, The Elusive Mr. Pond: The Soldier, Fur Trader and Explorer Who Opened the Northwest by Barry Gough, In the Slender Margin: The Intimate Strangeness of Dying by Eve Joseph, and Ancient Pathways, Ancestral Knowledge: Ethnobotany and Ecological Wisdom of Indigenous Peoples of Northwestern North America by Nancy J. Turner.
The winner will be selected on April 25th at a gala in Vancouver. Fingers crossed!
