Cycle Touring

Cycling in Siberia

Cycle touring is an inexpensive and enjoyable way to explore the countryside.  It is much easier carrying heavy loads on a bicycle than backpacking, and the mechanical advantage allows you to travel greater distances.  It is possible to travel from 30 km to 200 km in a day, depending on your fitness level and objectives.

Planning a vacation by bicycle is not only good for physical fitness and mental health, but it is also an eco-friendly form of travel.  There are many places around the world with excellent cycling infrastructure and breathtaking scenery – from the rivers and wine regions of Europe to the Rocky Mountains in North America.  This website provides information in helping to plan a long distance cycle tour.
